Gulgun was born in Western Turkey and educated in Istanbul where she received a degree in German at University. In Turkey she taught primary school children and spent a period working at Ataturk Airport.
She has lived in the UK since 1996 and is based in the South East of England. She is married with one child. She enjoys travelling, Turkish cooking and gardening.

Over the past 24 years Gulgun has worked in the public and private sectors. including court procedures, criminal cases, police interviews, Immigration, Health and Social services and Education. She has translated commercial documents and private correspondence.
